The company Petroleo de Venezuela (PDVSA) Gas is developing a research project, whose main objective is the self-generation of electrical energy, providing new technological solutions to develop the country.

The project, entitled Cinétix Fluxogenerator 1.0, was developed by engineer Malba Sánchez and her PDVSA Gas team and was recognized in the 20th Edition of the Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán National Awards for Science, Technology and Innovation, in the mention of Worker Innovation.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCYT), this innovative equipment generates electrical energy from the kinetic flow of gas in pipeline networks, promoting the self-generation of electricity for data transmission equipment in telemetry booths.

“Its economic feasibility has been demonstrated, resulting in savings of 80% in costs in relation to the replacement of the original components that each telemetry booth has. It is also important to highlight the environmental impact. It is a team that is framed within international treaties such as the Treaty of Paris, in force since 2020,” Sánchez said in an audiovisual.

This advance also represents a step towards technological independence, using local knowledge to face the challenges of the national industry.

“It's impossible not to fall in love with this prototype. It is a prototype that shows us that in the 21st century there are new ways of generating electricity, which have nothing to do with conventional forms,” he said.

The implementation of the Cinétix 1.0 Flowgenerator strengthens the operational capacity of PDVSA Gas and is part of the vision of the Bolivarian Government, led by President Nicolás Maduro, which seeks to consolidate an efficient and self-sufficient energy industry.

“We gas workers are committed to providing feasible, viable, tangible solutions to continue developing and showing the value of our resources,” he concluded.
