The Venezuelan Peasant Movement reaffirmed its firm commitment to food production, in defense of participatory and leading democracy, as well as national sovereignty, in the face of recent aggressions by the United States against the country,

In an interview with the program Café en la Mañana, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the producer Florimar Coronil, highlighted that every day the sector is more committed to guaranteeing production for the Venezuelan people, even in the most difficult times.

“Our commitment is to produce to win, to meet the basic needs of the population. Even in the toughest moments, we have fought to supply the inhabitants,” he said.

For his part, producer Carlos Alemán emphasized that the peasant family has assumed a historic commitment that dates back to the liberators who accompanied the father of the Fatherland Simón Bolívar, and that today continues with the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez and the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

He recalled that the peasants did not abandon the town during the pandemic or in the midst of the economic war. “In times of siege and aggression, we will be with the people guaranteeing agri-food security, because that is a priority policy of the Bolivarian Government,” he emphasized.

They also highlighted that the election of the municipal spokespersons of the Peasant Council held this Sunday, January 11, in the midst of the aggressions, ratified the commitment to food sovereignty and the defense of the homeland, as part of the comprehensive strategy to protect the country.
