Within the framework of the Plan for the Homeland of the 7 Transformations promoted by the National Executive, the Institute for Higher Diplomatic Studies “Pedro Gual” (IAEDPG) seeks to consolidate itself not only as a training center, but also plans to become the great diplomatic academy by 2026, said the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, during the IV Promotion “230 Years of the Birth of the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho, Antonio José de Sucre” of the Master's Degree in Foreign Policy in Venezuela.
“The IAEDGP has completed an important stage in Venezuelan diplomatic life, but the new times demand us to move forward boldly to defend the revolutionary legacy and to join this new path of transformation and change,” the foreign minister reiterated.
Minister Gil urged IAEDPG graduates to “strengthen Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy to build a multipolar world, promoting cooperation, dialogue, unity between peoples, mutual respect and global solidarity, seeking a more just, equitable and sovereign international order, connecting with social movements and defending self-determination.”
The director of the diplomatic academy, Tatiana Pugh Moreno, stressed that, in the face of aggressions and threats at this complex time, “our commitment is to continue to exercise peace in every space or trench to create a future of hope and opportunities.”
Regarding the new generation of diplomatic trainers, the Minister of Popular Power for University Education, Ricardo Sánchez, assured that the IAEDPG has been a space for strategic reflection, rigorous training and the construction of their own thinking in international matters. “Generations of diplomats and diplomats have been formed here who have represented our Venezuela with dignity in the most diverse settings of the Global South,” he stressed.
In total, 31 graduates received their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Venezuelan Foreign Policy, 16 with Summa Cum Laude honors, including the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs for Latin America and Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Rander Peña and Tatiana Pugh Moreno, respectively.
The graduation ceremony took place in the Antonio José de Sucre room of the Yellow House, the protocol headquarters of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, in Caracas.
