The first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Pedro Infante, declared during the march in support of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores that, despite imperialist aggression, the Bolivarian Revolution continues to govern and guarantee peace and the institutional functioning of the country.
“Right now, brothers and sisters, the one who controls the reins of this country, the one who guarantees peace and institutional functioning, is the Bolivarian Revolution,” he emphasized.
Infante recalled that, since 2013, after the death of Commander Hugo Chávez, Venezuela has faced sanctions, coercive measures and conspiracies from the national and international right, all defeated by patriotic and revolutionary unity. “As Chávez said, he's not a man, he's a project. The president of this country is Nicolás Madur or will continue to be Nicolás Maduro,” he said.
The parliamentary leader emphasized his unwavering support for the incumbent president Delcy Rodríguez, who is leading the country with courage and intelligence in this complex moment. “She represents the collective leadership of this Revolution, what Chávez sowed and what Maduro has consolidated to maintain the reins of the Fatherland,” he said.
Infante emphasized that unity is essential to maintaining peace and demanded the release of President Maduro and the first lady. “Sooner or later Nicolas and Cilia will return. A united Venezuela will win and this people will continue to flourish,” he concluded.
