During a fishing caravan in Nueva Esparta, the first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Pedro Infante, invited all sectors of the country to build a Venezuela of hope and to demand a total cessation of sanctions affecting the national economy.

“Let us ask that the blockade and sanctions be lifted and that we move forward in building a Venezuela of the future of hope, peace and prosperity for all,” he said.

Infante, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency, stated that our country must fly free, and for this it is necessary to eliminate each of the 1,081 unilateral coercive measures that hinder economic development. “This is where business, religious, academic, workers, fishermen and political sectors come together without distinction. It doesn't matter who you voted for. What matters is that the country moves forward,” he said.

Infante invited us to leave behind hatred and resentment, to recognize mistakes with humility and to work for stability and peace. “Never again should we ask to sanction or block the Venezuelan economy. May never again be asked to harm the country. We must all demand that sanctions be lifted and move forward in building a Venezuela of future, hope and prosperity,” he said.

Infante concluded his speech by reiterating that the country will continue to travel the Venezuelan east together with fishermen and organized communities. “We are convinced that without blockade and without sanctions, Margarita will be able to rediscover all her economic and tourist dynamics. We are still walking with our people,” he concluded.

For her part, the governor of Nueva Esparta, Marisel Velásquez, accompanied the activity and recalled that the interim president called for a great national pilgrimage for peace and the lifting of sanctions. “Nueva Esparta joins in raising a prayer to God and to our Virgin of the Valley, for the North American government to lift sanctions. Our people, entrepreneurs, merchants, businessmen and youth need a better future,” he said.

The fishing caravan from the Bolivarian state of Nueva Esparta toured the main towns and coasts of the state this Saturday as part of the Great National Pilgrimage for a Venezuela free of sanctions and in peace. Representatives Erika Farías, América Pérez and Junior Gómez participated in the activity, accompanied by a town that took to the streets massively.
