Penitentiary Ministry released 116 prisoners of liberty for altering the constitutional order after reviewing cases

This Monday, January 12, the Ministry of People's Power for the Penitentiary Service (MPPSP) reported that 116 new citizens who were deprived of their liberty have been released in the last hour “for acts associated with altering the constitutional order and threatening the stability of the Nation.”

This announcement was made by the prison portfolio through a statement published on its Instagram account, in which it indicated that these new releases are in addition to the 187 granted during the month of December 2025.

“These actions follow up the comprehensive review of cases, initiated voluntarily by Constitutional President Nicolas Maduro Moro s. This process has continued under the direction of the President in Charge Delcy Eloína Rodríguez Gómez, within the framework of a policy oriented to justice, dialogue and the preservation of peace,” the MPPSP specified in the document.
