People of Portuguesa condemn U.S. criminal actions against Venezuela

The inhabitants of the state of Portuguesa gathered in Plaza Bolívar de Guanare to demand the release of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and to repudiate this criminal action by the United States.

Luis Alberto Morillo, an agricultural producer, said that the People are asking for the full restoration of the freedom of the Venezuelan head of state so that he can continue his term of office. During the demonstration, he declared: “Maduro must be with his people, not far from them.”

For her part, Carmen Elena Rodríguez, a social worker, said that “we are here to support the president and ask that his freedom be respected.” He also explained that the massive presence in the square demonstrates the communities' commitment to President Nicolás Maduro.

University student Pedro Rafael Castillo commented that young people from Portuguesa join the national clamor for the release of the president. In this regard, he stressed: “We are the generation that defends democracy and sovereignty.”
