The Municipal Council of Libertador, in Caracas, unanimously approved this Thursday an agreement against fascism and violence that sought to break the democratic thread of Venezuela after the presidential elections of last July 28.

“With this agreement signed unanimously by the plenary of this collegial body, peace, life, healthy coexistence are ratified and the institutionality of the State and the full victory of Nicolás Maduro Moros are recognized,” reads the text endorsed by the faction of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the opposition block.

The document was proposed by Councilman José Reyes, a member of the Permanent Committee on Public Works and Roads, and declares Caracas a “violence-free territory”.

In this way, the municipality of Caracas agrees to “remain in a permanent Cabildo to inform and train the citizens and citizens of our capital city of their fight against fascism and violence”.
