Officials from the Public Ministry and personnel of the High Complexity Crime Investigation Division (DIVIAC) of Peru raided the house of President Dina Boluarte, in Lima, as part of investigations into alleged illicit enrichment.
This action is for the purpose of searching and seizing, on the merit of a judicial decision on alleged illicit enrichment and failure to enter a declaration in documents for the use of Rolex watches, according to the first information.
In the house, located in the district of Surquillo in the west of the Peruvian capital, the president was not there and only her son was there at the time of the search, which followed the judicial decision issued by Judge Juan Carlos Checkley Soria, in charge of the Supreme Court of Preparatory Investigation.
According to images released by local media, the agents decided to enter by force and proceed with the investigation, since no one opened the door of the house.
Before the court decision, Boluarte requested to reschedule his appointment with the Public Prosecutor's Office due to his tight work schedule. However, the president did not attend the events she used as an excuse to request rescheduling, an action that the Attorney General's Office described as rebellion.
On March 18, the Public Prosecutor's Office initiated preliminary proceedings against Boluarte for allegedly not having declared possession of luxury watches of the Rolex brand and for the alleged commission of the crimes of illicit enrichment and failure to declare.
