Petro blames Marco Rubio for the failure of the Summit of the Americas due to “ideological hatred”

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, attributed the failure of the X Summit of the Americas, which was scheduled for early December in the Dominican Republic, to the “ideological hatred” of the Secretary of State of the United States (USA), Marco Rubio, for his intentions to exclude Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua.

The New Granada president pointed out that the continental shelf did not promote a space for dialogue between American countries.

“A summit has failed, which, including all the American republics and Canada, should have been the scene of a sincere, pragmatic and constructive dialogue, what a shame!” , he indicated in his X account.

He stressed that “this failure of the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, is due to the desire to hold a Summit of the Americas excluding countries, blinded by ideological hatred,” said Petro, who said in October that he would not participate in this meeting.
