This Thursday, November 06, the photographic exhibition “
The War against Truth: Press Freedom
Under Israeli Occupation” will be inaugurated at the Armando
Reverón Museum of Contemporary Art in Caracas (MACCAR), in which they will also pay tribute to Fatima Hassouna.
The exhibition, with a high testimonial content,
brings together the work of two professionals who have closely covered the conflict in the Palestinian
territories, and reveal the systematic repression against the press
and the resistance of the Palestinian people.
The exhibition has a
special emotional meaning, including images of Fatima Hassouna (1999—2025), a young Palestinian
photographer who lost her life while working in Gaza. His
lens captured crucial moments of life under siege, turning his
work into a legacy of courage.
Along with Hassouna, the work
of Colombian journalist Mauricio Morales Duarte, who has spent more than two
decades documenting the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, will be exhibited. Through their
photographs, both artists offer an intimate and raw perspective on reality.
The public will be able to enjoy “The War against Truth: Freedom of the Press Under Israeli Occupation” this Thursday starting at 3:00 p.m., undoubtedly an opportunity to reflect on the role of journalists in conflict zones and the importance of truth in war contexts.
