On Thursday, April 16, three matches were played in the Professional Basketball Super League (SPB), with the winners of Pioneers of Ávila, Brillantes del Zulia and Guaiquerís de Margarita.
At the Gymnasium Mayor General “Elio Estrada Paredes”, located in Roca Tarpeya, Caracas, Pioneros managed to overcome the match against Marinos de Anzoátegui to win 74-73 with a triple by Heissler Guillent over the sound of the chicharra.
Heissler led the win with 15 points (3 of 6 in three-pointers), 8 assists, 6 rebounds and one steal, followed by Eddie Jarrel with 19 points, 4 rebounds, an assist and a block, while Tobin Carberry stood out for Marinos with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals, SPB press review.
In the Pedro Elías Belisario Aponte, Brillantes del Zulia defeated Panthers de Miranda 88 by 69. Myke Henry led the victory with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and a block, followed by Tevin Glass with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, while Solomon Koul was the best for Panthers with 13 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and one steal.
Guaiquerís de Margarita came out of a bad streak by defeating Diablos de Miranda 77-98 in a game played at José Joaquín “Papa” Carrillo.
Pedro Chourio led the insular victory with 16 points (4 of 8 in three-pointers), 5 assists, 4 rebounds and one steal, followed by Juan Guerrero with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist.
For hell, Edry González had 18 points (2 of 2 in three-pointers), 3 rebounds, 2 assists and one steal.
