Venezuelan pitcher José Buttó of the New York Mets returned to an outstanding day this time against the Atlanta Braves.
Buttó entered the mound with the game tied in the sixth episode and ended with the threat from the visitors.
The Venezuelan had a perfect three-inning job in which he struck out four rivals.
Buttó has a 0.65 ERA since moving to the Mets bullpen. He accumulated 17 strikeouts in 12.2 episodes and the only score he has conceded in that role was a home run that he allowed on July 22. He has not allowed annotations in six of his last seven appearances, reports The Emergent.
“I'm comfortable with all my releases, whether I'm ahead or behind in the count. I'm very confident right now and I'm going to keep working and improving every day,” Buttó told SNY.
Since the Venezuelan returned to MLB, only five passports have been negotiated for him.
