Members of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) arrested two people for allegedly joining a gang dedicated to recruiting women and taking them under deception to Peru where they were forced into prostitution, according to police sources.
According to information published in the newspaper Última Noticias (UN), the detainees were identified as: Ysmarly Alejandra Landaeta Villegas (37), nicknamed La Mamá, and Carlos Adrián Gómez Morales (25), who were arrested on Avenida Universidad, San Carlos (Cojedes).
This arrest occurs on the basis of a complaint filed with the Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) by one of the victims.
“The victim reported that she escaped from the center of sexual exploitation in Peru, where other Venezuelan women were also staying. Alias La Mamá told women that they should have relationships with the customers of the place in order to pay the expenses of the ticket and lodging, according to the testimony of the victim,” the ÚN reported.
The women were contacted by a man who offered them a job in Peru. And when they arrived in that country they were stripped of their documentation, the complainant told the Public Prosecutor's Office, she added.
