PNB seized more than 800 kilos of marijuana in Nueva Esparta

The Bolivarian National Police, through the Criminal Intelligence Directorate (DIP), seized more than 800 kilograms of marijuana on the island of Cubagua, Nueva Esparta state.

During the operation, two citizens were apprehended and 1,529 pots of the illicit substance were located, which were hidden among the vegetation of an area.

The procedure was carried out after tracing geographical coordinates obtained from the analysis to technological evidence from previous investigations. At the site, authorities also seized logistics and maritime navigation equipment, including three GPS devices, cell phones and an electrical generator, according to a press release replicated by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN).

The case and the detainees were left to the order of the Public Prosecutor's Office to continue with the relevant legal actions.
