From Plaza Bolívar in Caracas, cultivators and artists of different movements and expressions, as well as enthusiastic Caracas residents, gathered to write letters of support to the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros and the first lady, Cilia Flores.
At the Poetic Tribune, organized by the Venezuelan Cultural Mission attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture (MPPC), supporters arrived with their letters ready or with pen and paper, to take the time and write a heartfelt message to the Venezuelan authorities.
The Deputy Minister of the Arts, Mary Penjeam, stressed that the Venezuelan people send these letters as a sign of support and strength in the face of the captivity of those affected, trusting in their prompt return to the country. At the same time, he stressed that, under the leadership of the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, the Chavista movement and the people remain united and firm in their struggle.
For her part, Karen Millán, Vice Minister of Culture, said “from where Caracas gave the first cry of freedom, from Plaza Bolívar, cultors, artists, artisans and creators have come to raise a single flag. Diversity of social movements, diversity of expressions such as a flag today, the self-determination of peoples, the sovereignty of the Venezuelan nation and demanding that the United States government release two kidnapped persons who are the deputy Cilia Flores and the president Nicolás Maduro.”
Venezuelans deposited their letters full of messages, drawings and supporting phrases in a transparent box, in front of the statue of the Liberator, in turns taking pictures and recording the historic moment.
