This Monday, the Holy See reported that Pope Francis has been hospitalized at the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome since last Friday, February 14, and that tests confirmed a polymicrobial infection of the respiratory tract that has forced therapies to be modified.
It also reports that the Pope “rested well, spent the hours quiet and ate breakfast as early as every day since admission, the spokesman Matteo Bruni announced to the press, adding that the therapies are continuing.” This Monday afternoon, the situation will be updated at 05:00 (local time).
At the moment, there are no forecasts for a hospital discharge and the Supreme Pontiff must follow the rule of absolute rest established by the doctors, as confirmed by the director of the Press Office, which is why he was unable to conduct the last prayer of the Sunday Angelus. In spite of everything, he maintains his good mood.
The Holy See reported that Francis has not missed his daily appointment with the parish of the Holy Family in Gaza by telephone call, which has been confirmed by Father Gabriel Romanelli and all the refugees in the parish.
