Pope Francis thanked parishioners for their prayers, the Vatican said.

“I would like to thank you for your prayers, which rise to the Lord from the hearts of so many faithful from so many parts of the world. I feel all your affection and closeness and, at this particular moment, I feel “carried” and supported by the entire People of God,” said the Supreme Pontiff.

He also thanked him for the care he receives from doctors and health personnel.

“I am still sending you these thoughts from the hospital, where as you know I have been for several days, accompanied by doctors and health workers, whom I thank for the care with which they take care of me,” he said.

For its part, the Holy See indicated that the Pope is stable and has not had a new attack of bronchospasm.

“This morning Pope Francis returned to breakfast, had a coffee and read some newspapers, as is his custom, while continuing his treatment and after having spent a quiet night,” the Vatican said.
