Pope
Leo XIV urged the international community to work to
prevent the continuation of genocide against Peoples.
“I renew my
call to the community of nations to always remain vigilant,
so that the horror of genocide never affects any people again,” he emphasized
during the general audience this Wednesday, in the Paul VI Hall of the Vatican .
According
to Prensa Latina, the Supreme Pontiff's call comes because of Israel's
continued aggression against the Gaza Strip, which has cost
the lives of more than 60,000 Palestinians, most of whom were women and children,
something that specialists in international law consider to be new acts of genocide.
Ecclesiastical authority also
refers to a rally in Iowa where the President of the
United States, Donald Trump, reaffirmed his intention to try to prevent
fuel from reaching Cuba and to further tighten the economic, commercial and
financial blockade, with clear genocidal intentions against that people, according to analysts.
