Through his Telegram channel, the governor
of the Portuguese state, Primitivo Cedeño, reported that the entity is fine-tuning
details for what will be the 42nd edition of the Masquerade, an event that will kick
off the celebration of carnivals.
“Excellent Portuguese night from the
Rehabilitated and Embellished Casa Coima Historical Heritage of the state
preparing the Mascarada 2025, which will be the best Carnivals in Venezuela
together with our artists and designers,” said Cedeño.
He noted that the work they have carried out during that
time is aimed at ensuring a celebration that highlights the
cultural richness and national identity of the country. In addition, he highlighted that
this year's theme will be “National Identity”, which seeks to strengthen
community ties and celebrate diversity.
He announced that the first adult parade will
take place on March 1 on Unda Avenue, followed by a second day of
parade on March 3. The float stop is scheduled for
March 4th, and the award ceremony will take place on March 6th.
He said that more than 1,500
officials will be deployed, a command post and drone monitoring will be implemented. “To
ensure the fluidity of the event, alternate roads will be cleared and only authorized vehicles
will be allowed,” he said.
He indicated that for this Carnival, 42 communities have already
registered to participate, reflecting
significant growth in popular inclusion. In addition, he specified that 27
floats have been registered, to which two more will be joined, coming from the Government and
Corpotur, for a total of 29.
The program includes five dance troupes for adults, five for children, 11 free troupes for adults and a variety of monumental costumes that cover diverse categories, including gender diversity. In total, more than 1,700 artists are expected to participate, who will bring this colorful event to life.
