Producers and businessmen in the Portuguese state have expressed their support for the lifting of international economic sanctions imposed on Venezuela, arguing that these measures have negatively affected the country's economy.

During the various interventions, producers, businessmen, and opposition political leaders emphasized that the request for the release of sanctions against Venezuela does not respond to a political motivation, but to the human need of Venezuelans, a right of the people and the path to a decent life in which peace and freedom are the basis of society.

The president of the Portuguese Federation, Omar El Choumary, stressed that “unilateral coercive measures” systematically hit all strata of society, hindering the normal operation and development of economic activities.

The business representative said that the union is resolutely joining the national clamor for the definitive end of financial restrictions. El Choumary argued that the elimination of sanctions is an urgent need to allow both the public and private sectors to act fully for the development of the nation.

RESPONSIBLE OPPOSITION

For his part, the national secretary general of the Democratic Action party, Bernabé Gutiérrez, said this Thursday that the economic sanctions and blockades imposed against the country are not fortuitous events, but rather respond to direct requests from sectors of the Venezuelan extreme right.

“There is a fundamental difference between their organization and groups that do not believe in democratic tools of internal confrontation because they are “irresponsible” and the leaders who have managed this type of international pressure, arguing that such actions have sought to impoverish the population and affect the productive capacity of the Venezuelan countryside,” emphasized the deputy.

Gutiérrez invited attendees to imagine the development potential that the country would have without the existence of these financial restrictions. “If the blockade did not exist, Venezuela” would be a power that produces essential items such as milk, guaranteeing domestic consumption and regional economic stability,” said the leader of the white awning.

In this regard, the leader urged the community to maintain a unanimous rejection of coercive measures, maintaining that the definitive recovery of the nation must be based on self-effort and on the exercise of sovereignty.
