The Scientific-Peasant Alliance, promoted by the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology, continues its deployment in the Portuguese state with training workshops focused on soil preservation and agroecological practices.

These days, according to a press release, seek to train local producers in the sustainable management of their land to ensure food sovereignty and resilience to climate change.

At the Pedro Pérez Delgado Agroecological School, in the municipality of Turén, the workshop Soil as a Living, Dynamic and Complex Being was held, where 11 producers learned to recognize the physical and biological properties of the soil, highlighting the importance of microbiology for carbon retention.

Also, in the Mijaguito Arriba community, in the municipality of Páez, another group of 13 people received training under the same premise, emphasizing the elimination of chemicals to promote a healthy life in the countryside.

In the Hugo Chávez Frías community, in the same municipality, practices were addressed on the optimization of local resources, the use of organic fertilizers and Creole seeds to reduce dependence on external inputs.

These activities, organized with the support of the Francisco de Miranda Front and local communities, reinforce the commitment of the peasant sector to healthy, toxic-free production that protects regional ecosystems.
