The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, thanked his counterpart from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, for the humanitarian aid sent to the island to assist those affected by the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

“Thank you, brother Nicolás Maduro, for helping our people during these difficult times, and for your constant complaint of the cruel #Bloqueo that hurts us so much, now more than ever,” said the president of the Greater Antilles in a message posted on his Telegram channel.

He stressed that Cuba “appreciates any help as long as it is sincere and with respect for our sovereignty and laws.”

‎El People's Power Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, led this Thursday the shipment of humanitarian aid to Cuba and Jamaica, Caribbean nations affected by the passage of Melissa, as a sign of the spirit of support and solidarity of the Bolivarian Revolution with the peoples of the world.
