The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, commemorated this Sunday the 207th anniversary of the installation of the Congress of Angostura, a historic event in which the Father of the Fatherland, Simon Bolivar, delivered one of the fundamental speeches of Venezuelan republican thought.
On the occasion of the date, through his Telegram channel, Rodríguez shared an excerpt from the Liberator's historic message, in which he stated that “the most perfect system of government is the one that produces the greatest amount of happiness possible, the highest amount of social security and the greatest amount of political stability.”
He also emphasized that the Liberator's extraordinary words are more relevant today than ever. “Cementing the pillars of freedom and social equality of the People, it gave a legacy to the world that we must make known,” he said, stressing that it marked the path of happiness for the People.
For this reason, he said that “guided by Bolívar in Angostura, today we reaffirm his ideology to consolidate the social and economic peace of the Republic; bringing happiness and forging a future of prosperity for all Venezuelans.”
