This Thursday, August 6, the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, extended her congratulations to the women's basketball team qualifying for the AmeriCup 2027, after beating Brazil for the first time.

In her social media accounts, the president in charge said: “Historic triumph for Venezuela!”

He stated that “our women's basketball team made history by beating Brazil for the first time and qualifying for the AmeriCup 2027.”

“Congratulations to our warriors for this victory that fills the entire country with pride!” , said the president in charge.

The Venezuelan women's national team made history by beating Brazil for the first time and thus securing their ticket to the AmeriCup 2027. By winning the scoreboard with 71-57, the Venezuelans won the match played in Zárate, Argentina, on August 6 and qualified for the tournament that will be played next year in El Salvador.
