This Monday, January 19, the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that the Bolivarian Government expects to increase gold production by 30% in 2026, with its own efforts.

“A 30% increase in gold production is expected this year,” he said.

The announcement was made at the Miraflores Palace where he led a working meeting with the Mining and Basic Industries Engine, in which he stated that a plan is being implemented aimed at increasing the production of gold and strategic minerals in the country, in order to encourage the generation of foreign exchange in the nation.

He also stressed that once the National Assembly (AN) approves the Organic Law on Mines and Minerals, “it will allow us to attract significant flows of international investment, that this investment is accompanied by joint work with Venezuelan companies.”

He also shared the figures for gold production in 2025, when 9.5 tons of gold were produced, “the private sector grew by 34.38% and the public sector grew by 81%.”

“We are now seeking to increase gold production with our own efforts by 2026, which in our country maintains the foreign service, allows funding for our athletes to attend international competitions, on the way to the Olympics,” he said.

He reaffirmed that the mineral wealth of the homeland is destined exclusively for the welfare of the Venezuelan people and not for interests outside sovereignty.
