President in charge Delcy Rodríguez receives notification of the start of the 2026-2031 Legislative Period

In a solemn ceremony in the Simon Bolivar Hall of the Miraflores Complex, in Caracas, the president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, formally receives notification from the Legislative Branch regarding the beginning of the constitutional six-year term 2026-2031.

} The new board of directors elected for this first legislative year of the period 2026-2031 is headed by Jorge Rodríguez as president of the AN; Pedro Infante, first vice-president; and Grecia Colmenares, second vice-president. The parliamentary team is completed by María Alejandra Hernández Aldana in the secretariat and José Omar Molina in the undersecretary.

During the meeting, the president in charge is accompanied by the sectoral vice-presidents of the Executive Office and a large parliamentary representation. Deputies Nicolás Maduro Guerra, Tania Díaz and Rodbexa Poleo attended the Grand Patriotic Pole; while Timoteo Zambrano (Cambiemos), Bernabé Gutiérrez (AD), José Brito (Justice First), Stalin González (UNT) and Antonio Ecarri (Pencil) appeared for the Grand Patriotic Pole.

This notification about this new phase was made in strict compliance with the ruling of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), and the National Parliament took the formal swearing in of Delcy Eloína Rodríguez Gómez. The official assumes the leadership of the National Executive in the face of the kidnapping of the Constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro, and the First Lady, Cilia Flores, with the objective of guaranteeing administrative continuity and the comprehensive defense of the Nation.
