On Thursday, the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, presented two legal instruments to the National Assembly (AN) for its parliamentary debate: the Bill for the Protection of Socio-Economic Rights and the Organic Bill for the Acceleration of Procedures.

Rodríguez explained that the first legislative proposal aims to protect consumers, guaranteeing the quality of the goods and services offered in the country. He stressed that products manufactured in Venezuela “are our main ambassadors in the world” and stressed that this law aims to guarantee economic justice in all transactions.

He requested the support of the Parliament to carry out its approval, stating that it is a necessary instrument to strengthen trust, national production and the defense of the socio-economic rights of the population.

The president in charge also presented the Organic Bill for the Acceleration of Procedures, a proposal that, as she explained, incorporates elements of the anti-blockade model to allow the non-application of regulations that prevent investments or normal administrative procedures.

He indicated that this law was designed to streamline procedures in public administration, eliminate obstacles affecting citizens and productive sectors and create more efficient conditions for economic development. “Acceleration is a different word,” he said, stressing that the objective is to eliminate any regulatory barrier that prevents the proper functioning of the State and the arrival of new investments.

During his speech, Rodríguez urged to “twist the course of anti-politics” in Venezuela, warning that extremism and fascism must be excluded from the exercise of public functions.

He denounced that extremist sectors promoted measures that considered the suffering of the population as collateral damage, regardless of the impact on workers' incomes, public services or economic activity. “They didn't care about the country,” he said.

Rodríguez invited Venezuela to be put before petty interests and reiterated the request for respect for national dignity, stating that “we have asked the Government of the United States to respect the dignity of President Maduro and respect for the dignity and integrity of the first lady.”
