The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, regretted the physical departure of Human Rights (Human Rights) activist Jesse Jackson.
On his Telegram channel, he wrote “with deep sadness we received the news of the departure of Reverend Jesse Jackson, whose voice resounded for more than six decades as the conscience of the nation.”
He added that “his legacy is indelible: we will always remember his call to “keep Hope Alive”, a motto that gave strength and sustenance to marginalized communities in the United States and around the world. His life was a testimony of dedicated service to the forgotten, fighting for the right to vote, economic justice and international peace.”
In this regard, he stated that “his fraternal relationship with Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez will be remembered, with whom he held meetings and dialogues in defense of understanding between the United States and Venezuela, supporting solidarity initiatives such as the supply of heating fuel to vulnerable communities in the United States through CITGO, a subsidiary of Petrleos de Venezuela S.A. Our condolences to his family and friends.”
