President in Charge Rodríguez leads tribute to Heroes and Martyrs who offered their lives in defense of the Homeland

The President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, leads this Thursday, January 08, a solemn act of promotions and decorations at the Eclectic Monument of the Military Academy of the Bolivarian National Guard (AMGNB).

The purpose of the ceremony is to honor the memory and sacrifice of patriotic soldiers and citizens who offered their lives in combat, as well as those who were injured during the defense of the homeland on January 3rd.

The Bolivarian Government thus recognizes the value of those who face the vile attack and kidnapping of the constitutional president and commander in chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

During the activity, offerings of honor, clasps and post-mortem decorations are given to the families of professional officers and troops who ascend to immortality in fulfillment of their oath.

The tribute includes military personnel of various ranks and to civilian citizens who are victims of imperialist aggression.

In addition, promotions and decorations, such as the Army and Aviation Cross in its first class, are awarded to personnel who bear the scars of honor after being injured in service confronting aggressive forces.

The event also paid tribute to the 32 heroes of the Republic of Cuba who offer their lives defending Venezuelan sacred soil. Cuban ambassador Jorge Luis Mayo Fernández receives the offering of honor on behalf of these fighters.
