The president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, said that Venezuela is an energy power, “we are, and it has brought us tremendous problems, because you know about the energy voracity of the north, it wants our country's resources and we had denounced it.”

At this point, he emphasized that “we have had a very clear position, that Venezuela is open to energy relations in which all parties benefit.”

“In which economic cooperation is very well determined in commercial contracts. That is our position and the diversity of our energy relationships,” he said.

He also stressed that “all the falsehoods, of drug trafficking, democracy and human rights, not these reasons, were excuses, because what has always been present is that Venezuela's oil must be delivered to the global north.”

He made the statement at the Miraflores Palace, where he received notification to the Executive Branch from the Board of Directors of the National Assembly (AN) of the beginning of the Constitutional Legislative period 2026-2031.

President Rodríguez stressed that Venezuela has the largest energy reserve on the planet and the largest gas reserves. “These resources must be at the service of national development,” he said.
