From the social network X, the president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, stated that “the bombings on Venezuelan territory and the capture of its president have crossed an unacceptable line.”
The Head of State of Brazil pointed out that “these acts represent a serious affront to the sovereignty of Venezuela and set an extremely dangerous precedent for the entire international community.”
He added that “attacking countries, in flagrant violation of international law, is the first step towards a world of violence, chaos and instability, where the law of the strongest prevails over multilateralism. The condemnation of the use of force is consistent with the position that Brazil has always adopted in recent situations in other countries and regions.”
He adds in the publication that “this action recalls the worst moments of interference in Latin American and Caribbean politics and threatens the preservation of the region as a zone of peace. The international community, through the United Nations, must respond firmly to this episode. Brazil condemns these actions and stands ready to promote dialogue and cooperation.”
