The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, praised the victory that, in perfect civic military police union, the Venezuelan people orchestrated, crushing the mercenary invasion attempt carried out on May 3, 2020, by opposition extremism with the support of North American imperialism and the Colombian narco-government of now former president Iván Duque.

In a message published on his Telegram channel, the National President recalled how “5 years ago “Operation Gideon”, a plan devised, prepared and financed from Colombia, and by the US government, sought with mercenaries to invade the coast of Venezuela”.

“However, we prepared and activated “Operation Black First Crush of the Enemy”, and that's how our FANB, the Bolivarian National Police, militiamen and militiamen, the humble and ordinary people, defeated the attempt to assassinate, attack public institutions and fill Venezuela with blood, and then justify foreign military intervention,” he said.

He stressed that this victory is evidence of the determination of the patriotic people who are ready to defend territorial integrity, peace and the Bolivarian Revolution in any scenario that presents itself.

“The Bolivarian Fury of a People that knows how to face all challenges! That the enemies continue to underestimate us, we will continue to stand, victorious and moving towards the great objectives of the Fatherland,” he said.
