President Nicolás Maduro indicated that 83% of the documents published on a website by the extreme right as alleged acts are false.
In statements to the press, after appearing before the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), Maduro maintained that these documents were published with the consent of Edmundo González and are absolutely false.
In that regard, he affirmed that the law must prevail. “That man (Edmundo González) is now not going to say that he was deceived,” he added.
The President affirmed that Venezuelans want to live in peace and that this does not turn into an escalating conflict that destroys the economy. “We want to continue serving people, to advance issues of health, education, entrepreneurship,” he added.
“This is not about a government, this is about a people who have the right to peace, to tranquility, to independence, to sovereignty. The vast and growing majority of Venezuelans want institutionality to be respected,” he said.
The Head of State insisted that the only institution with national, sovereign competence to elucidate this attempt at “Coup d'Etat against institutions and destabilization”, is the Electoral Power that has already issued results as required by the Constitution.
