This Sunday, April 19, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and the First Lady Cilia Flores, expressed their support for the call made by the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, for the Great National Pilgrimage for a Venezuela without sanctions and in peace, an initiative that is taking place throughout the country to demand the lifting of coercive measures.

“Beloved people of Venezuela, sisters and brothers of our homeland, peoples of the world: on this April 19, independence day, people's day, day of living homeland, Cilia and I send a word of faith, love and hope. We salute and support the call of the president in charge, our sister Delcy Rodríguez, to this great national pilgrimage for a Venezuela without sanctions and in peace,” he said in a message released on social networks and dated in New York.

The couple also stressed that this mobilization represents a space for encounter, prayer, work and hope for the Venezuelan people, aimed at strengthening national union and reconciliation.

They pointed out that the country's destiny is summarized in three principles: union, freedom and happiness, and they insisted on the need to move forward as a cohesive nation, based on mutual recognition and collective effort for peace. At the same time, they emphasized that freedom must be oriented to the common good, to service and to the construction of a country in harmony, rejecting division and hatred as ways to national development.

Finally, they reiterated the call to consolidate a peaceful Venezuela, with values of faith, union and coexistence, within the framework of a mobilization that will last until May 1 with the participation of various sectors of the country.
