The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced the creation of at least 100,000 circles of grandparents of the Homeland, formed by a vanguard for the care of all older adults in every corner of the territory.

During a day of work with the Grandparents and Grandmothers of the Homeland, within the framework of the “More Years, More Love” Plan, the head of state pointed out that grandparents' circles are “for meeting, for health, for food, for health checks, for their medicines to reach them, for their comprehensive protection of grandparents and grandmothers”.

In this regard, the Minister of Popular Power for Grandparents and Grandmothers, Rafael Argotti, reported that, to date, 40,000 grandparent circles are registered to “go to the catacombs of the town, as our Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías said, and to move forward, not only in meeting needs (...) we have to go to the communities and break with that scheme that communities always have to come to the ministries. We have to be in the territory taking care of our grandparents, ” he emphasized.
