The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, decorated the members of the Cuba-Venezuela International Brigade.

At Palacio de Miraflores, the Head of State received the members of this group that has worked in solidarity with the sister island. In this regard, he specified that “you have supported the people of Santiago and the East in Cuba for several weeks, the work you have done fills you with inspiration because strength is the solidarity that moves us. The People of Cuba and Venezuela and all of Latin America are one people, but especially the town of Martí, which was the largest Bolivarian people in the 19th century.”

In that regard, he added that “solidarity is the natural and perfect language between Cuba and Venezuela (...) Cuba is the champion of solidarity in the world, for more than 60 years it has gone everywhere to demonstrate that solidarity is the future of humanity.”

He specified that "Cuba has been forged in the spirit of solidarity and we are working on it”. He pointed out that the fact that “our builders have come to the island, the staff of CORPOELEC - for example - have supported this is significant”.

The Peoples of Cuba and Venezuela are the strongest basis for the reunification of all of Latin America and the Caribbean and we must demonstrate that the future of our hemisphere and continent cannot be war or military threat, colonialism or slavery (...) That time has passed and no one wants to be a slave ever again.”
