President Maduro confirms arrival of humanitarian aid for Jamaica and Cuba due to type 5 hurricanes

The president of Nicolás Maduro, during the closing of the 1st International, Popular Space Congress for Science and Technology, announced the arrival of humanitarian aid to Cuba and Jamaica after the passage of hurricane Melissa.

“The category 5 hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica hard, then it arrived in Cuba, it dropped to category 2, we are waiting, because solidarity must be present, that's why an hour ago humanitarian aid arrived from our country because works are love, this is the best way to act,” stressed the National President.

He added, in this regard, that the United States government has offered humanitarian aid to Cuba, for the first time.

“The best help they can do is to lift the blockade and all measures of economic persecution,” said the president, who reiterated what was decided yesterday by the United Nations (UN), which with 165 votes in favor ordered the United States to lift that blockade today.
