President Maduro confirms Donald Trump's call: Welcome dialogue, welcome diplomacy

President Nicolás Maduro confirmed the telephone conversation with the president of the United States of America Donald Trump, in a meeting that he described as respectful.

If that call means that steps are being taken towards a respectful dialogue, State to State, welcome,” said the Venezuelan president, who called for prudence in international relations.

The head of state, emphasizing the diplomatic prudence that characterizes him, pointed out that the conversation took place in silence and away from the microphones.

“If that call means that steps are being taken towards a respectful dialogue from State to State, from country to country, dialogue is welcome, diplomacy is welcome, because we will always seek peace,” he said.

He assured that the people of the United States they are tired of eternal wars and they have marks on their collective psychology, which make them reject any armed conflict. He also recalled the visits he made to the North American country, assuring that he knows several emblematic cities and places, and for this reason, confirms the desire of its population for dialogue.

“I believe that the path of the people of the United States and the people of Venezuela must be a path of respect, diplomacy and dialogue,” he finally emphasized, guaranteeing his commitment to prudence and the search for a future of peace, independence and dignity for the Bolivarian nation.
