President Maduro congratulated his counterpart Petro for assuming the Pro Tempore Presidency of CELAC

During his participation in the 9th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his congratulations to the Government of Colombia for the assumption of the Pro Tempore Presidency of this regional body.

“We hope that we will continue to make good progress in building a united Latin America and the Caribbean, in peace and freedom,” he said.

He also reiterated the proposal that the Government chaired by Gustavo Petro could schedule videoconferences, “to address vital issues in the face of this rapidly moving world. You have to reinvent yourself.”
