In his Con Maduro+ program, developed this Monday, March 11 from Maturín, Monagas state, the head of state, Nicolás Maduro, commented that “they wanted to kill the glorious history of Haiti for a century.”

In his words, he warned that “the solution in Haiti must be an integral solution, economically and socially, and there must be a process of internal pacification: Now they want to bring a foreign army into Haiti”.

He denounced that Haiti is threatened by foreign powers that prevent it from forming an army to guarantee security.

“When I was foreign minister, then President René Préval told Commander Chávez about the idea of forming an army for Haiti and asked him for help and the Commander said yes, after that, Préval told Chávez that he couldn't because he had been threatened from the empire,” he recalled.
