The renowned merenguero Rubby Pérez lost his life at the age of 69 after being trapped in the rubble of the Jet Set nightclub, where he performed in the early morning of Tuesday, April 08.
The collapse of the roof of the room, which occurred under circumstances still under investigation, buried the artist known as “The loudest voice in merengue”.
The incident took place in the early hours of Tuesday, and all day long there was hope of finding him alive. Rescue teams worked among the remains of the establishment, but the efforts failed to save the singer, whose full name was Roberto Antonio Pérez Herrera.
