This Thursday, August 15, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that in the second half of 2024, Venezuela's productive economy will record growth of more than 8%.
He specified that the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) has already certified that the country in the first half of 2024: from January to June, “the real, productive economy grew by 8%, the economy that produces goods, services, food, shoes.”
In that sense, he explained that if that semester is generally slow, in particular January, February and March, “and we grew 8%, in the second semester, it will exceed 8%.”
He noted that this Wednesday, August 14, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), recalculated, “they had calculated Venezuela's growth in 2024 at 4%, yesterday they said that the numbers moved and now it gives them 5%.”
This was reported during a Motor Entrepreneur Meeting, to continue promoting the economy and policies in favor of Venezuelan entrepreneurship.
In that regard, he stressed that Venezuela has a new economic model, no longer dependent on oil, which is important, so “they want to kick it and get their hands on oil (...) What Elon Musk wants is oil, gas, gold, bauxite, iron, coltan, but here are those natural riches.”
