President Maduro heads the closing of the National Congress of Chefs and Chefs of the Homeland

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, heads this Thursday the closing ceremony of the National Congress of Chefs and Chefs of the Homeland, in Plaza Bicentenario, in the Miraflores Complex, Caracas.

The purpose of the activity is to present an assessment of the development of the Congress, as well as to ratify the victory of the Bolivarian Revolution and of Venezuelans, in their firm and incessant struggle against multidimensional imperialist aggression —known as economic war—that has tried to use hunger as a war strategy.

In addition, the event promoted by the Ministry of Popular Power for Education seeks to build a Plan for the Defense of the School Feeding Program (PAE), in order to guarantee the nutrition of children and adolescents in the nation under any scenario, contributing to the materialization of the Plan for the Homeland of the 7 Great Transformations (7T), 2025—2031.

With the presence of the head of state, Venezuela confirms its victory in the fight against hunger —and its achievements—, achieved despite the economic, financial and commercial blockade and the 1,042 Unilateral Coercive Measures (MCU) imposed by the United States and its allies.

Thanks to its national economic plan, the country has registered a decline in the Prevalence Index of Undernourishment (IPS) or hunger, according to the most recent Report on the State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (SOFI, year 2025), which highlights that 3.3 million people have overcome food insecurity. This represents an 11.7% decrease in the undernourishment index between 2022 and 2024.
