During the broadcast of the 90th edition of the program “With Maduro+”, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, praised China's ability to overcome the so-called century of humiliation to which it was subjected by Western imperialism and turn that nation into one of the most powerful in the world today.
“After the decolonization of Asia starting in 1949, new powers such as China emerged, which went from being a country destroyed for more than 100 years, in what was called the century of humiliation, through the 'opium war' in the 1930s, to the great technological, commercial and military power of the 21st century,” he said.
R emphasized that after the English, French and Japanese invaded and colonized part of their territory, the Chinese people led by Mao Tse Tung began the war of resistance and created an anti-fascist movement against Japan, with which they recovered part of their invaded or occupied territory, in which some 35 million people died from massacres and famines, to become the world's first military and economic power.
