The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, paid tribute this Wednesday to the journalist and revolutionary leader Earle Herrera, on the 76th anniversary of his birth.

“To the man from Kiosco Veraz, the chronicler, poet and best speaker that our Bolivarian Revolution has had in Parliament, Earle Herrera, our memory, admiration and tribute forever,” said the Head of State through his Telegram channel.

He stressed that “Earle represented an ethical, creative, Chavista, unitary, constructive and Bolivarian left,” and noted that he also “was a true political leader, knowledgeable about our history.”

In his message, the President indicated that Herrera, who was a deputy to the National Assembly, “summarized, in himself, a vital and creative effort that left its mark on each of us. Always ready on the front line for battle, with supreme loyalty and his joking comment, full of criticism and condemnation, that's how we keep him in mind,” he added.
