President Maduro in the face of aggression: We have perfected our Defense System

During his speech at the 25th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, confirmed that Venezuela has taken steps to perfect the National Defense System, in the face of imperialist aggressions.

“ We have adjusted, we have perfected our vision of the National Defense System, taken from our ancestors, the Gran Cacique Guaicaipura and the indigenous Caribbean resistance,” he said.

In this regard, he proposed to the member countries of ALBA a combined strategy to face the current scenario, which consists of united and prolonged resistance among the peoples of the member countries of the organization.

He also proposed an offensive for permanent construction and development for a joint, cooperative and mutually beneficial economy, stressing that this strategy is to strengthen the regional social model, which respects and guarantees the human rights of the people and is based on the ideals of the liberators.

He recalled that in recent weeks Venezuela has experienced a series of aggressions, including threats of a military nature, of assault and kidnapping of a vessel carrying Venezuelan oil, among others, which a total rupture of legal and diplomatic channels in the region.
