President Maduro inaugurates Hugo Chávez Recreational Sports Complex in Falcón

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, inaugurated this Thursday, March 7, the Hugo Chávez Recreational Sports Complex, located in Coro, capital of the state of Falcón. It is a project consisting of six venues, all of which have been rehabilitated to accommodate various sports disciplines. It is the first youth zone of the Great Venezuela Youth Mission.

“Thank you for so much love and support (...) Here we are in these winds that my ancestors knew, because that's where we came from. Today we are faced with a colorful beauty, our cities are more beautiful than any city in the United States,” said the Head of State.

This sports complex has the Carlos Sánchez indoor gym, a space equipped for the practice of basketball and futsal disciplines. The works carried out include: conditioning of the floor, adaptation of the stands, improvement of the ceiling, transformation of public bathrooms, adaptation of the lighting system, new tracks for the velodrome as well as repair of the general infrastructure of the Gabriel Guanipa Semeco gymnasium. The space consists of 36 hectares for the practice of 18 highly competitive sports disciplines.

Upon his arrival at the Ciudad Deportiva, the Head of State toured part of the streets of Coro, where he was greeted by an immense red tide from Pueblo Amoroso.
