President Maduro invited young people to continue persevering on the path of a free homeland

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, congratulated the youth for their demonstrated strength and invited them to continue persevering on the path of a free, independent and sovereign homeland.

“I congratulate you for this moral strength,” said the head of state, outside the Miraflores Palace, where he received the Great March of Venezuelan Youth and Students for the Defense of Peace.

“You are already clear about the criminal face of fascism, your generation had not seen the criminal face of it,” he said.

He stressed that his generation did know that facet of the extremist right, “when the fourth Republic, on February 27, launched and murdered more than five thousand young people on the streets of Venezuela.”

He also argued that “my generation knows how criminals oligarchs and fascists can be. We also saw his face on April 11, many of you weren't born, as they killed their own people.”

“You saw that you hate and are criminals, how many of you have already been threatened by criminals,” he said.
