During the ceremony commemorating 16 years of the Bolivarian National Militia (MNB), the President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Nicolás Maduro, called for promoting the planting of values for the defense of the country against imperialist pretensions.
“Let us sow values of love for the Fatherland, let us sow consciousness to be invincible, so that the historic song of victory and rebellion rings out in neighborhoods, in the fields, in the streets,” cried out the National President.
He recalled the heroic deeds of the Venezuelan people on April 13 and 14, 2002, which destroyed the imperialist pretensions to stop the Bolivarian Revolution through a coup d'etat and the establishment of a fascist dictatorship.
“You grab the map, and the point you point to, there we fought for freedom; there we resisted and there we won... And we must remember that 23 years ago, on an afternoon like this, our people shouted and sang popular military victory over the fascist and imperialist coup,” he said.
He emphasized that after these 23 years, “this heroic people, who came out without weapons or uniforms, are today empowered to defend the right to democracy, peace, freedom, the right to the future.”
